You've earned it! The marble jar has been filled for the first time this year, and the reward you chose was to watch a movie.
Please make suggestions about what movie we should watch in the comments below. Only movies rated G or PG will be considered for school-time viewing. I will set up a poll on Thursday and we will try voting on Edmodo on Friday during computer time. Your Reading MCAS, which is different from your writing MCAS on March 18, will be just a few days after. It will be just like the "MCAS Practice homework" you've done every Wednesday.
Remember, along with using the ANSWER method to organize your ideas before writing, you also want a well written first sentence to impress those judges. To write a complete sentence, use words from the question to start, then because, and finally tell what you think. After that, you've already got your T-chart to copy from with all the relevant details from the story. Our Geometry Vocabulary wall is getting full! We have looked at triangles, quadrilaterals, lines, 3 dimensional figures, angles, and polygons. We learned about line relationships, sides, and vertices. Noticing similarities and differences in shapes help us to also notice patterns. What is the pattern so far in March? How can you tell?
This month our goal for earning Student of the Month for March is to practice responsibility. Responsible students do what they are supposed to do.
Responsibility means a lot of things, because when you are in fourth grade, you have lots of different responsibilities. They include:
The secret is, before they leave home, the classroom, or school, they stop and think, "What do I need to bring with me?" When they get papers or other materials they stop and think, "Where should I put these?" Before they say or do something to someone they stop and think, "Should I really say that?" If you want to be more responsible, all you need to do is stop and think, and make a good choice. I know most of you really enjoyed researching, writing, and typing your animal reports. Think about what you've learned about writing a research report. Then, please complete the Animal Essay Self Evaluation.
